Thankyou for all your support this year.

After an extremely busy 2022 myself and Lisa would like to take this opportunity to thank all the supporters of doorways for their continued dedication and support throughout the year. Without the selfless contributions from all the individuals and businesses and the incredible work ethic from our volunteers, this year’s Foodbank, Santa’s Grotto, Street kitchen and Christmas meal hampers wouldn’t have been made possible.

We have been able to distribute over 1,500 advent calendars to members, local schools, nurseries, and nursing homes, followed by 370 Christmas dinner hampers to families along with gifts for children and adults of all ages. Not forgetting that our food bank has supported over 500 households throughout the year and given more than 5,000 food parcels out during this time.

We would also like to send out a huge thankyou to Michael Brain of Hannells for the incredible fundraising efforts totaling £7,500 from himself and various local businesses and all his elves for wrapping over 1,000 gifts and selection boxes which were paired with the food hampers giving an extra special touch, with his contributions Doorways were able to put smiles on hundreds of families faces.

We would also like to give thanks to Rachel Murt and her family and friends from Ashbourne for securing the Turkeys from Moy Park for the Christmas hampers and for raising funds.

Thank you to the regular support we receive throughout the year for food donations received through neighbourly, along with the staff and customers of Morrisons at Belper, Sainsbury’s at Osmaston, Aldi at Alvaston. Also thank you to Lidl at Alvaston and Uttoxeter road for their Christmas toy donations on top of their regular food donations. Thank you to the Co-op in Allestree for their continued donations and support on all our appeals.

Thank you to Kedleston Road chip shop and Harvey Road chip shop for their continued hot food weekly donations for the street kitchen. Also, a big thank you to Birds, Greggs, and Milk & More for donating their end of day produce.

Without the continued support from all these amazing individuals and businesses Doorways would not be able to support the people we do, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you a prosperous New Year.

Best wishes

Craig & Lisa
