Our Community Partners

We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who supported our recent summer activity bag project for children. This wonderful initiative was the idea of one of our dedicated volunteers, Ginny, who recognized the need to provide not just food, but also fun and engaging activities for families attending the food bank.

Ginny rallied her colleagues at the UPS CER Team to get involved as part of their corporate volunteering efforts. Together, they planned activity bags filled with items that families could enjoy together, such as cupcake kits, gardening supplies, and arts and crafts. To make this a reality, each team member was given a specific task, from collecting items to making financial contributions.

This collaborative effort took place over several months, ensuring every detail was covered.

We're also grateful for the support of Derby City Council, who provided printed information about local summer activities, and to Ginny's friends and family who contributed craft items and supported the collections. This project was a great success, and it all came together during a fantastic team-building morning where everyone packed the bags.

This initiative was so important because it addressed the challenges families face not only with food but also with entertaining their children during the holidays.

Without incredible support like this from our community and corporate partners, we simply couldn't provide this level of help to the families who rely on us.
